A Turn Left Prequel Comic created by Nick Lodge was the only narrative entry in the “Fan Art” section of The Lockdown Fan Gallery for the Doctor Who: Lockdown! tweetalong of TV: Turn Left. As the title suggested, it was intended as a prequel to the events of Turn Left, showing the beginning of the fortune teller's association with the Trickster and the Time Beetle.
Plot[]
In 51st century Shan Shen, a poor fortune teller desperately tries to drum up interest in her business, but none of the passers-by seem to be interested. As she returns inside her shop, in tears, she sees a dark apparition in her mirror: the Trickster, who tells her that he “can change everything”.
He tells her that “prosperity will be [hers] once more” if she accepts his gift. Reaching through the mirror, the Trickster, so saying, hands her a silver puzzle-block. When she opens it, it turns out to contain the Time Beetle. Although visibly frightened, she accept the gift. The Trickster tells her to now do as he says.
