Ramone's Story was a short story written by Cornelius Blanc. It was the tenth and final prose story submitted by fans to the Doctor Who: Lockdown! as part of the 2020 The Husbands of River Song tweetalong to receive an official release on the Lockdown! website.
Plot[]
Having been decapitated by King Hydroflax, Ramone returns to the ship and discovers Nardole's headless body - as well Hydroflax's warrior monks. While waiting for River Song's return Ramone begins meditating, and the monks soon notice how content he is without his head, impulsively chopping off their own to follow his lead. The people of Mendorax Dellora begin to call them the Order of the Headless. As the Order begins receiving more and more initiates they are forced to use the Seventh Transept in order to store the heads.
In an attempt to locate River, Ramone befriends Dorium Maldovar - who advises him to join the Papal Mainframe to locate her. Ramone later allies the Order with a splinter chapter of The Church and attends the Battle of Demons Run where he finally comes into contact with River again. Instead of reuniting with River, Ramone reveals that he had actually been in search of her to retrieve a Vortex manipulator which had belonged to his actual lover.

Story notes[]
- One of the members of the Order of the Headless was said to "wheel his head around in a large tank". The individual was said to have been a "handsome Time Agent", who came to be a close acquaintance and lover to Ramone. This was a reference to fan theories that an encounter with the Headless Monks was how Captain Jack Harkness would become the Face of Boe, and that he was the handsome Time Agent whose Vortex manipulator Dorium Maldovar traded River Song in The Pandorica Opens.
